Service Description

Clinical approach to injury, pain management, relaxation, stress relief and therapeutic massage. Deep Tissue is not one specific type of massage, but rather a combination of advanced massage techniques to alleviate pain, treat arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, fibromyalgia, high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, anxiety and many other conditions that affect the physical body. Utilizing firm to deep pressure, movement with intention, and specific and targeted work reaches the deep layers of muscle and fascia. This helps to break up scar tissue, and breakdown muscle adhesions, which are the 'knots' and strands of tension within the muscle fibers. These knots are what can inhibit our circulation, limit our range of motion, and cause pain and inflammation that lead to chronic pain conditions. It aids by lowering cortisol levels, and increase natural oxytocin, which is a hormone that relaxes the body and produces soothing effects. Trigger Point Therapy is an approach to deep tissue massage that focuses on soft tissues to release pain, tension in muscles and fascia that you would normally experience as a knot in the muscle. A trigger point (TrP) is a hyperirritable spot, a palpable nodule in the taut bands of the skeletal muscles' fascia. Direct compression or muscle contraction can elicit 'jump sign,' local tenderness, local twitch response and referred pain which usually responds with a pain pattern distant from the spot. Trigger points develop in the myofascia, mainly in the center of a muscle belly, but can be located anywhere within the muscle fibers. Through a combination of deep breathing, and communication we can work together to find you the relief that you deserve. Highly recommended to do a series of sessions that are specific and targeted to address a specific issue. Fully Clothed Massage, recommend wearing loose fitting clothes.
